The Enchanted Land–in a Warm Dry Hotel
Almost ready for my favorite event of the year! Need to gather clothes==very simple–and carry a couple boxes out to the car. And then four days of partying with people who have a clew! Supposed to be bigger than ever this year, and you can easily join in if you are in the Chicagoland area! Hope to see ya there!
(We still call it ReenactorFest, and Mike is offering t-shirts that say that very thing this year!)
Yeah, the name change was STUPID, and disenfranchising. Especially for those of us who don’t reenact “military history”. Additionally, the expansion to include military miniatures/games and embracing Osprey Books has made me seriously question the route the event is taking.

Osprey Books demanded the name change before they would help sponsor it

Interesting info. I didn’t know that; that explains a lot. On the one hand I’m kind of surprised the event coordinators even considered Osprey as a sponsor given their poor reputation in the reenactment community. On the other hand, I suppose if they needed cash bad enough you sell out.
Hopefully the new New England Reenactor Trade Fair won’t fall into the same traps.
